Open Graph Previewer

See exactly how your link card looks on Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp before you hit publish. Enter your page values and switch between platforms instantly.

Enter a URL to preview

We'll fetch the page and show you how its link card looks on each platform

How it works

Enter your page values

Fill in the title, description, image URL, and domain name.

Switch platforms

Toggle between Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp to see each card layout.

Adjust and confirm

Tweak values until all cards look right, then apply the same values to your actual meta tags.

Situations where this helps

Checking before a scheduled post

Checking how a link looks before scheduling a social post. A planned tweet or LinkedIn post that links to your article needs to look right. If the og:image is the wrong aspect ratio or the title gets cut off, you find out here rather than after the post goes live.

Testing tag changes before deploying

Reviewing proposed tag changes before deploying. You enter the values manually, which means you can test a new title or description against the card layout without touching the server — useful for checking edits before they go live.

Comparing rendering across platforms

Spotting how the same tags render differently across platforms. Image cropping, title truncation, and whether the description shows up at all differ between Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. Seeing all four side by side makes it easy to decide if your image needs more padding or your title needs shortening.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my social card look different from the preview?

This tool renders a faithful approximation of each platform's card layout. Minor differences can occur because platforms apply their own fonts, colour schemes, and image cropping, and they may cache an older version of your image or tags. After updating your meta tags, clear the platform cache using the Facebook Sharing Debugger, LinkedIn Post Inspector, or Twitter Card Validator to force a refresh.

Why is my image not showing in the preview?

The image URL must be publicly accessible — a URL behind a login, localhost, or a private CDN will not load. Paste the full absolute HTTPS URL. If the URL is correct and public but still not showing, the server may be blocking hotlinking or have a CORS policy that prevents the browser from loading it in this tool; the actual social platforms will still fetch it correctly from their servers.

What is the best image size for each platform?

Twitter/X and Facebook: 1200×630px (1.91:1 ratio). LinkedIn: 1200×627px. WhatsApp: 1200×630px, under 300 KB. Using a 1200×630px image covers all four platforms. Always keep the key content centred and away from the edges in case any platform crops slightly.

Do I need to set twitter:* tags separately from og:*?

Twitter/X reads twitter:* tags first and falls back to og:* when they are absent. The only tag you must add is twitter:card to opt into rich card display. Everything else — title, description, image — is inherited from og:* automatically. Use our OG Tag Generator to create the full tag block including twitter:card.

Why does my real Twitter card look different from the preview here?

Twitter caches link previews aggressively. If your tags have changed since Twitter last fetched the page, you will see the cached version in actual Twitter posts. Use the Twitter Card Validator tool to force a fresh fetch and clear the cache.

Does this tool fetch live data from the URL I enter?

No. You enter the values manually. This is intentional — it lets you test proposed tag values before they are deployed, and avoids any access restrictions that would block a live fetch from a browser.

What is the best image size to use for all four platforms?

A 1200×630px image covers Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp. Keep key content centered and away from the edges in case any platform crops slightly. Keep the file under 200 KB for fast loading.
