Is my camera feed stored or recorded?
No. The camera feed is processed entirely in your browser in real time. Nothing is captured, stored, or transmitted.
Can I scan a QR code from an image file?
Yes. You can upload any image (JPEG, PNG, WebP) containing a QR code and the scanner will decode it instantly.
What types of QR codes can it read?
All standard QR code formats — URLs, plain text, WiFi credentials, vCard contacts, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS, and WhatsApp links.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The scanner is fully optimised for mobile browsers. It uses your rear camera by default for the best scanning experience.
What if the QR code does not scan from the camera?
Try moving the camera slightly further back — autofocus can struggle at very close range. Make sure the code fills at least a third of the frame, and reduce any glare from overhead lighting. For codes on shiny packaging or screens, take a screenshot or photo first and upload it using the image upload option.
Can it scan barcodes?
This tool is designed for QR codes. Standard 1D barcodes — the type printed on product packaging — use a different format and are not supported.
Are previously scanned codes saved anywhere?
Scan history is stored in your browser's local storage so you can refer back to recent results without scanning again. The history stays on your device only and is not sent anywhere.
